The Best Ways to Grow Your Instagram Organically

In marketing terms, organically means 'performed naturally'; it's not referring to the use of pesticides or not! Building and growing an Instagram page is no easy task, especially when you have so many other things to do at the same time. However, building a strong presence on Instagram is imperative to your companies success. Why, you ask? Well, first, from a marketing agency's perspective, consumers correlate credibility to following and engagement. In today's day in age, if you're searching for a company that provides a service or offers a product, and you are deciding between one that has 35 Instagram followers and the other that has 35,000, you're more than likely going to use the one with more followers. This decision is because it gives off a greater sense of trust.

Don't lose hope. If your business has a weak Instagram following, there are ways to fix that.

Here are a couple of tips to fix that:

Post Engaging Content

We're not posting these tips in any order of importance, but if we were, this would probably be number one. It is imperative that your business posts high-quality content that consumers are interested in, can relate to, enjoy looking at, or that lures their attention. If your content doesn't make anybody want to do this, why would they want to follow you, no less buy your product or use your service? Creating and publishing quality content takes commitment, diligence, and hard work, but once you figure out the best way to produce the content for you, you're on the right path.

Interact with Users

Instagram currently has 1 billion active monthly users, ranking third behind YouTube and Facebook. There are people on the platform who are interested in your product or service; interact with them! It would be best if you utilized the power of Instagram to locate people who would be interested in your business and speak with them. No need to be pushy or salesy, but comment on their posts, swipe up on their stories, DM them, and share with them that you're digging their content and think they would enjoy yours! This kind of non-pushy interaction would more than likely get the user to at least look at your page, hopefully, follow you, and potentially check out your website. All of this can happen by taking the initial step of locating users and interacting with them. Go for it!

Use Relevant Hashtags

Hashtags are a great way of finding who and what you want on Instagram. A hashtag is a word or phrase preceded by a hash sign (#), used on social media to identify messages on a specific topic. So, for example, if I wanted to locate a marketing agency in New York City, I'd search #marketingagencynyc on Instagram, and hopefully, find a marketing agency in New York City using this hashtag. Using relevant hashtags is an excellent way of positioning yourself in front of interested consumers.

These three tips are a great way to begin on the journey of growing your Instagram presence.
